SUSTAINABLE
We extend our expertise in CO2-neutral building and flexible, sustainable and durable innovation through education and practical experience. Each of us has a fundamental understanding of adaptable design and integral building accessibility and we readily share and exchange our findings on all matters among our colleagues. By evaluating our work through a continuous dialogue with previous clients, users and project-teams, we can learn from our choices and try to improve them wherever possible. An example of such self-assessment would be our own review of the operating costs of a building in use, as we accrue applicable information from a practical perspective alongside the data provided by manufacturers and distributors of materials and products.
SOCIAL
We mentor various students during their thesis-year, give lectures on a variety of subjects within our field, and encourage and stimulate open exchange of knowledge with third parties. Across the border, we participated in the building of the Mackline Junior school in Kenya, and locally we are part of ‘Bedrijf and Samenleving’, a collaborative effort starting sustainable projects with socially involved organizations. This is how we contributed to the make-over of the residential care center in Delfshove.

ENVIRONMENTALY AWARE
Our environmental policy sets the guidelines for monitoring our energy and material consumption. All our fixtures are energy efficient and lighting and heating is controlled based on daylight, presence and necessity.

We drive hybrid company cars, and otherwise encourage the use of public transportation or riding a bike whenever possible. Our office is located in a national monument building and we approached the restoration process with the same sober and environmentally conscious attitude as we do all our other designs, avoiding any unnecessary use and waste of material. Lunch, groceries and catering are primarily organic and here too, we try to be as responsible as possible. Our employees are all supported in their pursuit of additional education or other professional ambitions and illness or special circumstances requiring part-time work is also (obviously) taken into consideration. New colleagues are paired with a coach and an introductory program and we are also open to interns from technical, as well as design backgrounds.
