BLOCK B4 LLOYDKADE
Over the next few years the Lloyd Pier in Rotterdam will be transformed from a harbour area into a high-quality residential location. Within an urban plan conceived by Rijboutt Van der Vossen Rijboutt, DP6 will be creating a design for two residential blocks on top of a car park. Large apertures in the blocks will provide a view and let daylight into the communal central areas and gardens. The central theme of our plan embodies comfortable outdoor spaces with ample sunshine and the view across the river. The houses therefore feature spacious balconies trimmed with brickwork. The undulating plan of the balconies creates the right dimensions to catch the sun and introduces a dynamic pattern that echoes the river.
