High-quality architecture for end users
Our design process focuses on the needs of the client and end users. We take pride in creating buildings that delight our clients and provide their users with the perfect environment for work, education, living, leisure, and accommodation. The essential part is finding out and understanding the requirements of both the principal and the end users. Through a process of analysis, mutual challenges and inspiration, a dialogue is established with the client and users to conceive a first draught. We then use our creativity and professional experience in close consultation with the client and users to develop the initial concept into a building in which its users will be able to experience an architectural environment that is second to none.
Professionalism and creativity
Professionalism and creativity form the foundation of what DP6 does. Creativity in the sense of special, aesthetically satisfying and innovative architecture. Professionalism in the sense of a realistic outlook driving knowledge-focused and well-controlled design processes.
One of today’s major aspects to be taken into consideration, sustainability demands integrated solutions from architects everywhere. DP6 operates at the cutting edge of sustainable architecture, and our own interests as well as our social involvement drive us to search for realistic solutions to sustainability requirements in all our projects. We use an innovative approach to realise this ambition, in terms of material and energy use as much as in terms of service live, flexibility and comfort. We think it is important to create distinctive buildings to which people can get attached and which offer them a comfortable environment. This is what we think sustainability is all about. In our vision a building is sustainable only if it carefully embedded in its surroundings and if its users enjoy its interior climate. Our method is based on a building’s life cycle to integrate sustainability, flexibility, investment and running costs into the decisions that determine the final design.
The use of BIM (Building Information Model) has become an integral part of modern construction principles. Our firm was one of the first to take up the use of BIM in the Netherlands, and we have gained ample experience with this method. The use of BIM has enabled us to substantially increase the quality of our work. Not only does it preclude drawing conflicts, the BIM model also adds lots of information that comes in useful for other parties later on in the process. With consultants all working within the same model, or working with linked models, the various design disciplines become much better coordinated so any issues can be quickly detected and resolved. In our communication with clients and users we use the model to offer a virtual walk through the building or to enable our rendering software to rapidly generate images from the 3-D model. Using simple software, clients and users themselves can walk through the model and add queries and remarks aimed at architects and consultants.
We work with a dedicated team of experts. Since its establishment in 1999, DP6 has grown into an experienced and flexible office with 20 designers and staff members. DP6 works in a flat organisational structure that optimises communication paths and facilitates the sharing of knowledge. Our corporate philosophy is aimed at openness and involving our whole team in each of the various projects. The DP6 staff are both aesthetically and technically trained, and have all the skills required to make the design and construction process a success. Their knowledge ranges across many fields, from design to construction, from urban planning to interior design, from process to costing. DP6 staff members are characterised by creativity, expertise and a solution-driven approach. Our ISO-certified quality system structure ensures that processes run smoothly, effectively and on schedule.
DP6 has no open positions at the moment.
