Construction Catharinabrug finished
The Catharina Bridge in Leiden is finished. Designed by DP6, the bridge is the most slender Ultra High Strength Concrete bridge with the longest span in the Netherlands. The cyclist and pedestrian bridge spans 36 metres and its deck in only 275 mm thick at the centre point. The design features a gentle S-shape that connects the Haarlemmerstraat and the Breestraat. The new bridge has received high praise, with accolades including “elegant” and “perfect for Leiden, a modern bridge among historic buildings.”
