CineMec Waalsprong arises

The third Cinemec-cinema, CineMec Waalsprong, arises. The cinema in Nijmegen is situated at a visibly clear spot at the Mauritssingel in the Waalsprong between Nijmegen en Arnhem and borders the newly made recreational lake.



The building consists of multiple recognizable hall elements that are placed in such a way that the spaces in between can functionally adapt. The whole building sits on a circular foundation plate which ensures the in the soil found archeological monument to stay unaffected. The roof over the interspaces is at different lines cut in and pleated which makes daylight enter deeply into the building.
