Transformation of Courthouse Building Section H started

The section H building of the Utrecht Courthouse, dating from 1903, is being transformed into accommodation for SSR, the Dutch training institute for the Judiciary and the Public Prosecution Service. By removing all subsequent additions, the building's original qualities will once again become visible: the splendidly clear U-shaped floor plan with its vestibules, long sightlines, refined materials, and the heritage staircase at its heart. Contractor JP van Eesteren will soon start work adding the new layer designed by DP6 in collaboration with i29, in which ‘balance’ is the key word. View the design here.
