Apartments Civic Amenity Site Rijnsburg

The location of the former civic amenity site in Rijnsburg where the Oegstgeesterkanaal meets the Noordwijkerweg is a special and splendid location in Rijnsburg. DP6 created a design for 34 apartments to let in this location. The development of the civic amenity site forms part of the development plan of the residential area, “De Horn”. The complex will be a detached element in the local space, creating an accent along the waterway. The basic elements of the design include good views, optimised daylight entry, spacious floor plans, generous balconies, and an orientation on the canal or the bustling residential area.

The architecture is modern, and sustainable detailing is essential to ensure that the high quality can be maintained in the future. The facade is characterised by strong horizontal markings using deep red bricks and white concrete borders combined with glazed and Colorbel inserts. The balconies of the apartment on the upper floors merge with the surrounding space to create a residential complex that responds to the different views and sunlight orientations while offering a diversity of housing types.
