Knooperf De Veldboer
To give the rural area in Overijssel an architectural boost, former farms are converted into ‘knooperven’; that is to say, by transforming a cluster of barns into a small residential neighborhood with a communal [barn]yard. Knooperf de Veldboer is the pilot project for this new living typology where DP6 and four other architecture firms exhibit their visions for the area.
The living concept DP6 has developed can be implanted on any of the available barn types. The homes are designed with natural materials -such as wood- and large windows with beautiful views of the landscape. The walls facing the more public garden or yard are less transparent, guaranteeing optimal privacy. The floorplans of these highly sustainable homes are flexible in their layout options.
