IKC Enkhuizen
IKC Enkhuizen is an integral children’s facility in the town centre of Enkhuizen. IKC Enkhuizen houses the primary schools Tweemaster and Het Mozaïek (Spaans Leger site) and the Pierewiet preschool, and serves the neighbourhood as a multipurpose venue. Moreover, parents are welcome in the parents’ café.
The building blends into the historical fabric of Enkhuizen with roofs positioned parallel with the streets. The facades are finished in brick and plaster and have tall windows.
The layout is open and spacious around the double-height central space containing a flight of stairs that functions as a seating gallery. Rooflights bring daylight into the heart of the building. The use of wood makes the interior light and warm.
